Valued Authority member Allan Dawson to step down on 30 April 2025

Allan Dawson has served on the Electricity Authority Te Mana Hiko Board since 2017, and latterly as Deputy Chair. Over this crucial period of change in the Authority, Allan has made a valuable contribution through his wealth of experience and industry knowledge as a global energy market expert in energy regulation, market development, and market operations.
During his time as a member, Allan was actively involved in implementing the transmission pricing technology and creating a new strategy for the Authority. This new strategy is now contributing to our goal of a low emissions economy and our enhancement of Aotearoa New Zealand's electricity market.
The Authority has benefitted greatly from Allan’s stewardship, commitment and diligence. He has enriched our work and been an asset to the Board and Aotearoa New Zealand’s energy industry. The entire Authority thanks him for his significant contribution in his time with us and we wish him the best in his future endeavours.
