Auditor forum strengthens collaboration and compliance

- Compliance
The Electricity Authority Te Mana Hiko hosted a successful auditor forum in Wellington on Wednesday 13 May to share insights and strengthen compliance work.
The forum gave auditors an opportunity to share industry observations and learn about new Authority processes, systems and developments.
Some of the Authority’s policy staff joined the session to talk through changes to the Electricity Industry Participation Code that will require half-hourly submission of reconciliation information.
The forum covered:
- Consumer Care Obligations and how to evaluate in audit reports
- escalating compliance breaches identified through audit reviews
- material change audits
- risk and assurance.
Together, the Authority and auditors identified several areas for improvement. We will use these insights to shape our compliance work programme over the coming months.
The next auditor forum will be in May 2027.
Auditors are appointed by the Authority to assess industry participants’ systems and procedures for accuracy and compliance with the Code. A register of auditors, along with information on how to become an auditor, is available on our website.
