Code amendment omnibus #6
Decision
We have decided to make three amendments to the Electricity Industry Participation Code for omnibus #6 – while opting to not proceed with one proposal.
The amendments respond to operational issues in the wholesale electricity market and are intended to make the Code clearer and easier for participants.
We will proceed with the amendments for:
- the materially large contract rules (effective 1 July 2026)
- hedge disclosure obligations (effective 1 August 2026)
- a list of technical and non‑controversial drafting fixes (effective 1 August 2026).
We will not proceed with the proposed minimum offer price exclusion for tie‑breaker situations.
We would like to thank all submitters who provided feedback on the proposed amendments.

Consultation
This consultation sought feedback on an omnibus consultation paper with three discrete proposals to amend the Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010 to:
- introduce a tie-breaker enhancement to improve handling of identically priced generator offers in constrained areas
- amend the application of the materially large contract rules
- refine the hedge disclosure obligations to increase transparency.
We also included a list of technical and non-controversial Code drafting fixes.
