Authority makes organisation changes to better align with our priorities

  • Strategy

We recently made changes to our organisation to deliver on our priorities and respond to the changing needs of the electricity sector.

Earlier this year we received a modest funding uplift to invest in driving innovation and competition while maintaining a reliable power supply. We’ve created some new roles and shifted leadership portfolios to create clear accountability for outcomes and better align with our priorities.

We’re operating in a sector that looks very different from how it did even a few years ago. The rapid evolution of the electricity industry places demands on the Authority to change not just the rules but also the way we regulate. We recognise the need to be an open, accessible and engaging regulator enabling fresh ideas to achieve a competitive, reliable and efficient electricity market.

To this end, we've refreshed our leadership team to include General Manager roles for Retail and Consumer, Networks & Systems Change, Wholesale and Supply and Communication, Engagement and Data. Two of these roles have been filled internally, and interim plans are in place for the remaining two roles while we prepare to take them to market.

Other key changes are designed to enable delivery of the Consumer Care Obligations, bring our network activity together and maximise our use of data to educate and inform our audiences.

We expect to advertise for the new position of General Manager Wholesale and Supply over the coming weeks and the General Manager Communication, Engagement and Data role in early 2025. All roles are advertised on our careers page as they become available.
