Authority starts investigating self-reported breaches by Genesis Energy

The Electricity Authority Te Mana Hiko has started an investigation into self-reported breaches of the Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010 (Code) by Genesis Energy Limited.

Genesis Energy self-reported that it breached Part 13 clause 13.82(2) and Part 13 clause 13.82(3) of the Code on 26 January 2024.

This event relates to an alleged failure by Genesis Energy to comply with dispatch instructions at Huntly Unit 5 and failure to immediately advise the system operator of the circumstances for not complying with the dispatch instructions.

If any participant considers it is affected by the alleged breaches and wishes to join the investigation, it should contact the appointed investigator by 5pm on 27 March 2025.
