Exploring plug-in generation and Code improvements for export limits and connection processes

The Electricity Authority has consulted on how New Zealand's electricity rules should support plug-in generation if it becomes legal in the future (this is a decision for other regulators), and improvements to distributed generation connections.

We sought feedback on:

• how the Electricity Industry Participation Code can support the safe and efficient uptake of plug-in generation if the broader electrical safety regulations allow it
• clarifications to improve the efficiency of small-scale distributed generation connection processes, including the application of export limits.
