Levy-funded appropriations
Each year we consult on our levy-funded appropriations for the upcoming financial year.
Overview
The Electricity Authority is seeking an annual increase of $14.2 million to its baseline funding to:
- pay for increased service provider costs to operate the electricity system and markets
- enable us to keep pace with the rate of change required to support an orderly low-emissions transition and better serve all consumers.
Thanks to all submitters who provided feedback to inform our advice to the Minister for Energy on the appropriate level of 2024/25 funding and levies for our work. View submissions. The Minister’s decision and our funding level for 2024/25 will be announced on Budget Day.

Each year we consult on our levy-funded appropriations for the upcoming financial year to enable us to meet our statutory objectives and deliver our key objectives on behalf of electricity consumers.
The Minister’s decision and our funding level for each financial year is announced on Budget Day.
